The property has a private viewing deck for watching the bay, sunsets, and local wildlife. The seafront setting is adjacent to the Klipgat Nature Reserve and draws a variety of wildlife including a seal colony, rock-rabbits, mongooses, tortoises, birds, and a porcupine that visits nightly.

De Kelders sits on the seafront of Walker Bay near Hermanus. Gansbaai, a fisherman's village less than 5 minutes away, is the starting point for whale, dolphin, and Great White Shark expeditions and has a modern selection of eateries and shops. Shark cage diving is also available in the area.
