Flights: Daily flights Maputo–Inhambane (LAM); also OR Tambo and Kruger Mpumalanga → Vilanculo (SA Airlink). Inhambane Airport transfer (~2 hrs): Met at airport, short taxi to port, private motorized ferry to Maxixe (or road around the bay), then road through villages and across the Tropic of Capricorn to the Massinga Beach turnoff, plus ~10 km sand road through coconut groves; complimentary water and soft drinks; ferry subject to weather. Vilanculo Airport transfer (~2h30): Met at airport; EN1 through villages and baobabs to the turnoff, then the same ~10 km sand road; complimentary water and soft drinks. Self-drive: ~600 km north of Maputo (~8 hours with speed limits). Last 10 km from the EN1 turn-off needs a 4×4; 2×4 vehicles can be parked securely nearby at a nominal daily rate with transfer to the lodge.
