The double-storey, thatched cottage comprises 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large open-plan living area, accommodating up to 8 people. The main bedroom is furnished with an extra-length king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and bath. Located upstairs, the second bedroom contains twins that can be converted into a king-size bed.
Downstairs, the third bedroom also contains twins that can be converted into a king-size bed, while the fourth bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed. For flexibility, twin beds are available on the landing, and a collapsible baby cot is available. The 3 bedrooms share the use of 2 bathrooms with showers only, and all beds are fitted with electric blankets in winter.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a stove and oven, a microwave, a fridge, tea and coffee station, and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table. A pure water tap and an ice-making machine are also available.
In winter, a cosy but efficient wood burner counters the briskness of the cold evenings and keeps the cottage warm and comfortable. The lounge offers comfortable seating and a TV with DStv. Good quality Wi-Fi is available.
A spacious garden allows for sunbathing at your leisure, with the Sterkspruit river just a stone's throw away which offers an alternative to the swimming pool and as well as tubing for those in the mood. Mount Champagne itself offers tennis, fishing, canoeing and a delightful swimming pool area all within 200 m of the cottage. Regrettably, pets cannot be accommodated.
Extensive walking trails are available with organised hikes, horse riding and helicopter trips into the mountains, available ex Dragon Peaks resort just 1 km away. The renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir School borders the property and the sound of their weekly concerts echoes across the valley. Mountain biking is also popular in the area.
