The Annex at Pippins is a luxurious self-catering garden apartment with breathtaking views, adjoining the main homestead in the stunning Elgin Valley. The wood-fired hot tub and cosy fireplace make this the perfect retreat for couples looking to recharge while enjoying the magnificent surroundings.

This garden suite offers a private, light, and airy ground-floor space, located approximately an hour's drive from Cape Town International Airport. The spacious north-facing bedroom features a king-size bed with fine cotton percale bedding. The en-suite bathroom includes a bath, while a separate shower room is perfect for a refreshing shower.

The open-plan lounge, well-equipped kitchen, and dining area are stylishly furnished, offering lovely views over the garden and neighbouring apple orchards to the mountains beyond. The unique four-seasons-in-one-day climate is catered for with a cosy wood-burning fireplace and electric blankets, and not forgetting the wood-fired hot tub. A plunge pool is available for the warmer months.

A Weber braai/BBQ is provided for your convenience, and free Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property. The suite also features a solar inverter system to avoid any disruptions from load shedding.

Take a leisurely stroll around the established garden, home to interesting trees such as walnut, macadamia nut, olive, wild fig, and sweet thorn. Discover the hidden pond, a replica of Lady Anne Barnard’s Bath at Kirstenbosch, or unwind on the wooden bench under the majestic pin oak tree. If you’re visiting during harvest time, we’ll ensure you enjoy the bounty of fresh vegetables, nuts, or olives.

Location & Surroundings

The Elgin Valley is located in the Overberg region of the Western Cape. Elgin has been known for almost a century for its famous fresh produce – most notably apples and pears. The area is one of the Cape’s most beautiful fruit-growing areas and wine regions. This agricultural centre is home to apple and pear farmers and producers of some superb cold-region wines.

This special valley is also known for its incredible award-winning cool climate wines. You will be near wedding venues, wine-tasting rooms, hikes, bicycle tracks, the Elgin Railway Market and the Cape Canopy Tour, as well as the Elgin/Grabouw Country Club. But also to just be here to do nothing at all, is an option.
