Directions from Johannesburg / OR Tambo (Gauteng) via Dullstroom (avoids the Machadodorp?Lydenburg R36 stretch)
From Johannesburg (or O.R. Tambo International Airport), join the N12 East and then merge onto the N4 East towards eMalahleni (Witbank) / Middelburg (Mbombela/Nelspruit direction).
Stay on the N4 past eMalahleni and Middelburg to Belfast (eMakhazeni).
Take the Belfast / Dullstroom turn-off and follow signs to Dullstroom on the R540.
Drive through Dullstroom, then continue on the R540 for ± 50 km towards Mashishing (Lydenburg).
As you enter Lydenburg, follow signs for the town centre / CBD and continue to Kerk Street.
Turn into Kerk Street, then turn into Kantoor Street
Travel note: This route is the commonly used N4 ? Belfast ? R540 via Dullstroom ? Lydenburg approach.
(As with all escarpment routes, watch for mist around Dullstroom and remain alert for potholes/roadworks.)
