The family-run rest camp on Sandfontein farm provides immaculate accommodation in peaceful natural surroundings with beautiful scenery and a natural fountain flowing between the main house and rest camp.

Facilities

Facilities include a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with lunch packs, takeaways and picnic baskets on request, a shop with fresh produce, groceries, snacks, wine, malt, light alcoholic beverages, ice, souvenirs and currency exchange, a filling station with unleaded petrol, diesel and 50ppm diesel, and a natural fountain.

Location & Surroundings

East Gate Rest Camp lies at the Buitepos border post between Namibia and Botswana on the Trans Kalahari Highway on Sandfontein farm next to the Botswana border. The nearest town is Gobabis. It lies on the route from Windhoek to Johannesburg, a one-day drive from Johannesburg.
