Welcome to Fields Rest, a small family run guest house in Walmer, Port Elizabeth. We pride ourselves in the quality and value for money we offer our guests. The guest house is located a stones throw from the airport, the perfect spot for travelers with early morning or late flights. Rates are discounted for single occupation and for stays longer than 2 nights.

There are many popular restaurants nearby in Walmer, and the beachfront with its many tourist attractions is only 5 minutes drive from our location.

We offer a choice of 3 units. In Union Road we have:
1. The Courtyard Room a double room with semi-self-catering facilities.
2. The Garden Cottage A double room with a small lounge and separate kitchen. In addition to the double bed, there is a sleeper couch for a child.
The Courtyard Room can be booked with Breakfast. Guests have access to free WiFi and premium Dstv. For those wanting to relax outdoors, there is the beautiful garden and the swimming pool. We provide outdoor benches and braai (barbeque) facilities.

In Albert Road we have:
3. The Apartment A superior quality large one bedroomed flat with open plan lounge/kitchen and balcony which can accommodate thee adults (or 2 adults and 2 small children). This unit is self-catering only but is located next to an excellent restaurant and 100m from a KwikSpar. Guests have access to Netflix and free WiFi.

Power cuts: All units have a number of battery powered lights and back up for the WiFi.

Location & Surroundings

Walmer is one of the most popular suburbs in Port Elizabeth both for locals and for visitors. The suburb is a mix of leafy residences and businesses. There are many popular restaurants and coffee shops, notably along Main Road, Heugh Road and 6th Avenue. Field's Rest is located less than 5 minutes from the airport, and it is even possible to walk to the airport during the day (approximately 15 to 20 minutes). We are about 10 minutes from Port Elizabeths well-loved beaches. There are a number of walking and cycling trails within easy reach.

For those who are in need of medical facilities please note we are 10 minutes or less from St Georges and Greenacres Hospitals. the Nelson Mandela University (Summerstrand campus) is 10km from Field's Rest.
