Glen Avon Farm is an 1820s settler farm in the Eastern Cape that provides self-catering farm holiday accommodation on a working livestock farm with three guest units.

Accommodation

Three units include Garden View Cottage for two in open-plan double-bedded room with en-suite shower, Hart Cottage for five in three bedrooms with fireplace and kitchen, and Pecan Cottage for six in three bedrooms with fireplace and stoep braai. All have Wi-Fi and solar power.

Facilities

Units have Wi-Fi and are loadshedding-free with solar power, equipped self-catering kitchens, braais, heaters and supplied tea, coffee, farm milk and rusks. Wood is for purchase. Guests can access three marked walking trails, mountain biking, birdwatching, fishing, bakkie rides to the waterfall, swimming, paddling, stargazing and farm experiences.

Location & Surroundings

Glen Avon Farm lies 13 km from Somerset East, 7 km gravel and 6 km tar. Somerset East offers museums focused on art and local history, restaurants and shops. The Glen Avon Waterfall is on the farm. A 5 km parkrun is held nearby every Saturday at 8 am.
