Directions to Izintaba Private Game Reserve

From Johannesburg via the N1 North (Kranskop tollgate), through Modimolle toward Vaalwater (~60 km), then Melkrivier / Sandrift area; the reserve is signed near a dam. Final approach is mostly dirt road (about 18 km on the main route), with sandy patches — keep speed up and do not stop in sand; allow extra travel time. A 4x4 is not required, but higher ground clearance is recommended. An alternative route for ordinary sedans goes through Vaalwater, the R33, Visgat and Sukses (~25 km dirt). Avoid some GPS shortcuts (via Melkrivier or Dorset off the R33) that are longer or unsuitable for low cars; from Vaalwater, routing via Little Serengeti / Lephalale / Giesendam Plaas is advised.
