Kuilfontein Stable Cottages provides eight-unit bed and breakfast accommodation in converted former racehorse stables on a historic Karoo farm near Colesberg.

Accommodation

Former white-gabled racehorse stables house eight Cape Heritage units with antiques. Five standard rooms offer twin, queen or king beds. One large suite has a king bed and en-suite shower. Two luxury rooms have queen-size beds. All feature crisp white percale linen, mohair blankets and feather pillows.

Facilities

Swimming in the freshwater spring, boule, hiking and biking trails, birdwatching around 250 species and Boer War relic hunting are available. The memorabilia-filled pub serves pre-dinner drinks with a winter fireplace. After-dinner drinks are offered in the gazebo. Converted shearing shed offers a wedding venue for up to 70 guests.

Kuilfontein Stable Cottages sits directly on the N1 near Colesberg as a convenient stopover between Johannesburg and Cape Town. More options are available 12 km away in Colesberg.
