About

Lake Eland Game Reserve in Oribi Gorge offers accommodation in sleeper chalets, a Family Home, cottages and campsites on a 2,500-hectare conservation reserve.

Accommodation

Options include 2, 5 and 6 Sleeper Chalets, Family Home, Park Home, Pipe Dream and Pipe Dream Deluxe, The Kraal, Fisherman Cottages, caravan and campsites, and camping at the lake. Self-catering chalets have king beds, open-plan kitchens, lounges, decks and private braai areas. Some units are on a dam.

Facilities

Fully licensed restaurant with indoor dining, outdoor deck and garden, plus a fully licensed outdoor bar. Kitchen open 7:30am–4:00pm. Children’s playground nearby. Swimming pool on site. Caravan sites have electricity points, fixed braais and two ablution blocks. Lakeside campsites share a communal boma and dishwashing.

Location & Surroundings

Oribi Gorge, about a 35-minute drive inland from Port Shepstone and roughly 123 km from Durban via the N2 south. Final 4 km is gravel to the entrance. Activities include self-drive game viewing, an 80 m suspension bridge, zipline tour, horse riding, hiking, MTB trails, fishing and 4×4 tracks.
