Lake Naverone provides self-catering cottage accommodation on a 400-hectare estate centred on a natural lake in the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg World Heritage Site.

Accommodation

Four fully equipped self-catering cottages are on the lake edge, each with a four-poster bed and fireplace. Multiple cottages include double-storey units and named ones such as Robin Cottage, Nightjar, Cuckoo, Crake, Dabchick, Coot and Plover, with privacy and panoramic mountain views.

Facilities

The property includes a natural lake and dam, horse paddock, airstrip and jungle gym. Reception provides day permits for wilderness trails. Guests have free access to bordering Gooderson’s Drakensberg Gardens resort trails.

Location & Surroundings

Lake Naverone is in Southern Drakensberg World Heritage Site foothills, borders Gooderson’s Drakensberg Gardens resort and adjoins the KZNNCS Wilderness Area. Four restaurants and a golf course are within a five-minute drive. Sani Pass is approximately 2.5 hours’ drive to 2874 summit and Highest Pub in Africa.
