Enjoy a pleasant stay at Leehaven, a tastefully furnished property in Hout Bay located on the owner's premises, close to the beach, harbour, and the popular Mariner's Wharf.
Leehaven Cottage is a three bedroom, fully S/C cottage on the same premises. It comprises 2 upstairs bedrooms sharing a bathroom and 1 en-suite bedroom downstairs, with open plan lounge and kitchen area. The lounge features a wood fireplace, which heats the master bedroom via its flue.
It is possible to book the Leehaven Apartment as well as The Cottage and increase guest capacity to 8 guests.
Guests staying in The Cottage have access to the garden and pool area for their enjoyment. For those with small children, please take note the pool is not fenced. There are two friendly dogs on premises who live with the owner.
Leehaven Apartment, an upstairs unit is an open-plan space comfortably sleeping two in an XL king-size bed and features an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The kitchenette is well-equipped with a two-seater dining table, small fridge-freezer, microwave, air fryer, induction stove, toaster, kettle, and full crockery and cutlery. Parking is available in the evening for this unit only.
The Nook (closing 12/4/26 & being incorporated into the Cottage), which is the smaller downstairs unit, is an en-suite room offering a private entrance and a double bed. The bathroom includes a bath with an overhead shower, washbasin, and toilet. The room also provides a table, tea and coffee-making facilities, a bar fridge, kettle, microwave, and basic dining ware, as well as a private patio with seating. Only on-street parking is available for guests in this unit.
For added comfort and security, the property features an inverter with a battery backup and remote-controlled access, secured by beams & electric fencing. Its convenient location allows easy access to the beach, harbour pier, harbour, the delicious seafood at Mariner's Wharf and on the red tourist bus and local MyCiti bus routes.

Known affectionately as the "Republic of Hout Bay" by locals due to its limited access points, this charming suburb offers a unique and timeless beauty, despite being just a 20-minute drive from Cape Town's city centre. Staying in Hout Bay immerses visitors in its vibrant atmosphere, enhancing any South African vacation. Originally a fishing village, Hout Bay has preserved its character, blending a working harbour with a relaxed, country feel. Its stunning long beach is nestled in a bay surrounded by mountains, attracting Capetonians on weekends for fresh seafood and seal sightings in the harbour.

Scenic drives connect Hout Bay to Cape Town via three routes: the breathtaking Chapman's Peak (a toll road), the inspiring coastal road over Suikerbossie Hill to Llandudno and the Atlantic beaches, and the Constantia Nek route offering views of False Bay and access to the Constantia Wine Route.

However, Hout Bay itself boasts numerous attractions. From hiking and cycling in the mountains to abseiling, game fishing, and various water sports like sea kayaking, there is plenty to do. Sunset champagne cruises to the V&A Waterfront, glass-bottom boat trips to Seal Island, and the World of Birds ensure visitors can easily spend their entire trip within this "republic", earning them the right to a coveted Hout Bay "passport".
