About

Lowestoffe Country Lodge is private self-catering accommodation on a family farm in the Hogsback area, Eastern Cape, against the Elandsberg Mountains.

Accommodation

Four separate dwellings on adjoining farms include Trout Lodge, Rockford Lodge and Walnut Lodge. Trout and Rockford each sleep 8 with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and open-plan living with a fireplace. Walnut sleeps 8 plus 2 in a flatlet, with a lounge, dining room and kitchenette.

Facilities

Fully serviced self-catering includes firewood, bedding, electric blankets and bath towels. Kitchens have a stove, microwave and fridge/freezer. Lodges are serviced daily except Easter and Christmas. Guests share 5,500 hectares for horse trail rides, mountain biking, hiking, birding and fly fishing.

Location & Surroundings

Hogsback village is about 26 km from Trout Lodge and Walnut Lodge, and 15 km from Rockford Lodge. The Klipplaat River runs about 18 km across the farms. Nearby attractions include indigenous forest walks, waterfall hikes, the labyrinth at The Edge and The Chocolate Shoppe.
