Malealea Lodge is child- and pet-friendly mountain accommodation in Lesotho’s Malealea Valley, with rondavels, rooms, Basotho huts, backpackers and camping for a range of budgets.

Accommodation

Options include rondavels and larger rooms (30 units), standard en-suite rooms mostly double or twin (9 units), Basotho huts and backpackers sleeping two (with linen or BYO linen), forest huts, and camping. Rooms include linen, towels, extra blankets and hot water bottles. No built-in heating.

Facilities

Three communal self-catering kitchens, bar, dining room, coffee shop and home-cooked meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner. Free Starlink Wi-Fi, solar power, laundry, children’s playground, tennis court, games room, gardens and cultural craft shop. Evening band and choir performances.

Location & Surroundings

In the Malealea Valley, Makhomalong Valley and Maloti Mountains of Lesotho’s Mafeteng district. Hiking includes Botsoela Waterfalls, Pitseng Gorge and Mt Fukufuku. Pony trekking, mountain biking and village tours available. Final 7 km access is gravel. Malealea Development Trust on site.
