Directions to Mateya Safari Lodge

By road: about 4.5 hours from Johannesburg/Pretoria via Krugersdorp → Magaliesburg → Derby → Koster → Swartruggens → Zeerust (toll near Swartruggens). From Zeerust ~85 km to the reserve; enter at Abjaterskop Gate. Speed limit in the reserve 40 km/h. Follow signs for Derdepoort then Mateya to reception. Lodge GPS: 24° 44′ 04″ S, 26° 20′ 55″ E. By air: daily return shuttles from OR Tambo (Johannesburg) to Madikwe via Madikwe Air Charter / Federal Air; lodge transfer from airstrip ~10 minutes. Madikwe East Airstrip: 24° 44′ 00″ S, 26° 24′ 27″ E; elev. 3,319 ft; runway ~1,200 m, east–west (11/29). Charter, shuttle, road transfers and stays can be arranged through the lodge.
