Nook Living, located in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel, offers a Scandinavian-inspired minimalist retreat just an hour's drive from Cape Town. This rural haven blends clean lines, soft neutral tones, and natural materials, creating a serene and calming atmosphere perfect for unwinding.

The cottage accommodates two guests comfortably, offering an extra-length queen bed in the main bedroom. On the mezzanine level above the lounge, we offer a double bed in case of extra guests. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, basin, and toilet.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a 2-plate gas stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, and all necessary cutlery and crockery. Please note: no microwave oven.

Meals can be enjoyed at the breakfast counter, which opens onto the patio, offering a seamless indoor-outdoor dining experience. Savour your meals while taking in the picturesque views. The patio is perfect for relaxation, featuring outdoor seating, a barbeque/braai, and overlooking the lush garden and refreshing pool.

Location & Surroundings

Riebeek Kasteel is a charming, picturesque village in the Riebeek Valley, Western Cape, about 75 km northeast of Cape Town. Known for its historic charm, scenic beauty, and vibrant arts scene, it's one of South Africa’s oldest towns, believed to have been established in the mid-1600s.

The area is famous for its excellent wines and olives. Many wine estates and olive farms are open to visitors, offering tastings and tours. Popular stops include Kloovenburg Wine & Olive Estate and Allesverloren Wine Estate, both renowned for their exceptional products.

Riebeek Kasteel has become a hub for artists and creatives. Visitors can explore art galleries, boutique shops, and quirky stores featuring local crafts and artwork.

The village boasts a variety of eateries, from farm-to-table bistros to fine dining restaurants. Favourites include The Royal Hotel, with its colonial charm, and Mama Cucina, an Italian-inspired eatery.

The town is named after Jan van Riebeeck, the Dutch coloniser who established Cape Town in 1652. It is said that he passed through this valley during an expedition in the 1660s. Riebeek Kasteel retains its old-world charm, with heritage buildings and tree-lined streets adding to its appeal.
