About

The Old Village Modderfontein offers self-catering heritage cottage accommodation on a certified organic farm outside Citrusdal, about 2 hours from Cape Town via the N7.

Accommodation

Seven heritage self-catering cottages, each with Cape antiques and individual décor, sleep from 2 to 6 guests. All have fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, air conditioning, and satellite TV. Solar power for lighting and hot water. Dogs welcome with responsible owners.

Facilities

Period country restaurant and pub, art gallery, and function venue for private and corporate events, weddings and conferences. Communal swimming pool. Organic farm with citrus, olives, rooibos, cattle and buchu. Farm walks on dirt roads.

Location & Surroundings

Outside Citrusdal in the Cederberg, about 2 hours from Cape Town via the N7 and Spring Flower Route. Views over the Citrusdal Valley towards the Cederberg and Sneeuberg Peak. Good base for the Cederberg and Namaqualand wild flowers in spring.
