Oudrif is off-grid eco-friendly straw-bale accommodation on the Doring River in the Northern Cederberg, a fully catered lodge of five cottages.

Accommodation

Five individual straw-bale cottages sleep up to ten guests, each sleeping two in one or two beds. Cottages have en-suite shower and toilet, sitting area, private veranda, crisp white linen, fans in summer and gas heaters in winter. Rooms are non-smoking.

Facilities

Solar power runs lighting, fridges and river-water pumping. Facilities include a central boma for communal dining, guest library, riverside deck, and tea and coffee from 6am. Rates include breakfast, lunch, dinner, local beer, wine and soft drinks. Organic meals use the on-site garden.

Location & Surroundings

On the south bank of the Doring River in the Cederberg, Western Cape, about 50 km from Clanwilliam and about 50 km of dirt road from the nearest town. Northern Cederberg (Nardouwsberg). Rock art sites, river swimming, fishing and guided walks. Rooibos tea farms nearby.
