Recently renovated self-catering accommodation at Penwarn Farm Lodge in the Southern Drakensberg foothills, about 25 km from Underberg, with cottages and lodges for couples, families and groups.

Accommodation

Six self-catering homes including thatch cottages and lodges. Penwarn Manor sleeps 16 with seven en-suite bedrooms. Mthini Lodge sleeps 11, Mziki sleeps 8 with a loft, Kingfisher sleeps 2, and Oribi and Nguni each sleep 5. Rustic yet modern style with fireplaces in most units.

Facilities

Self-catering kitchens, braai and firepit areas, trout fishing dam with kayaking, birdwatching, table tennis, children’s jungle gym, and trails including the Waterfall Walk and Rock Art Trail. Swimming in dams and a natural rock pool. Catch-and-release fishing for trout and bass.

Location & Surroundings

Penwarn Farm sits in the Southern Drakensberg foothills, about 25 km from Underberg, with lake and mountain views. Wildlife includes zebra, hartebeest, blesbok and eland. Nearby options include Sani Pass trips, Himeville Museum, and dining at The Duck, Lemon Tree and Spiers in Himeville.
