Accommodation

Orion Suites are eight open-plan units for couples, each with a king-size bed and sitting area. Self-catering options include Cedar Cottage, Oryx House, The Stables 1 and 2, Waenhuis, and Wolskuur Cottage, sleeping 4 to 8. Adventure Centre has dormitory bunks for school groups of 10–50.

Facilities

Rittersaal Dining Hall has fixed mealtimes and set menus. Two farm-dam swimming pools, free uncapped Wi-Fi, solar power, braai areas, and free fat bikes are available. Bookable activities include wine tasting, stargazing, guided drives, hikes, and cycling. Reserve and Eco-Village sit behind electric fencing.

Location & Surroundings

In the Great Karoo, about 330 km from Cape Town. From Matjiesfontein on the R354 towards Sutherland, the reserve is roughly 15 km before Sutherland on the Roggeveld plateau, within the Sutherland Dark Sky Reserve near SAAO and SALT.
