Schoemanshof offers self-catering accommodation on the Vaal River at the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site, about 25 km from Potchefstroom, with quiet riverside stays and river views.

Accommodation

Three cottages sleep 2 to 14: Kruisbessie (14, 2 bathrooms downstairs), Doppruim (8, 2 bathrooms including 1 en-suite), and Kollegerus (2, bath plus outdoor shower). Tokkelosbos private campsite takes one group of up to 18. Cottages need a 2-night weekend minimum.

Facilities

Cottages include equipped kitchens, linen and towels, fireplaces, bomas, and on some units a covered braai, air-con, a large deck over the Vaal, or a lapa. Tokkelosbos has two family bathrooms with showers, a double basin, gas geyser and solar lights, with no electricity. No music; no pets.

Location & Surroundings

On the Vaal River at the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site, about 25 km from Potchefstroom, with river views. Tierkloof Hike is a marked easy to moderate trail just under 3 km, about 150 m elevation through a natural kloof to a lookout. Dogs welcome on a leash.
