About

Squirrels Corner is a bed and breakfast in Montagu, Western Cape, in a house dating from 1890. One of the most established guest houses in Montagu, it offers accommodation within walking distance of most places of interest in the village.

Accommodation

Four room types are available: a Family Suite with two private rooms and a shared bathroom, a Garden Suite with a double bed and en-suite shower, a Classic Double with original Oregon pine flooring and a partial mountain view, and a Classic Twin with two single beds. The house retains original wooden ceilings from its 1890 origins.

Facilities

All rooms include tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. Off-street parking is available. The property has satellite internet and wi-fi, with a UPS to maintain connectivity during load-shedding. A full English breakfast is served in the dining room. Wood fires in the guest lounge and dining room add warmth in winter.

Location & Surroundings

Centrally located in Montagu, with historical homes, museums, restaurants and the tourist office within a block or two of the guesthouse. The dried fruit factory, wine outlets and hot springs are a short drive away. Two walks, Lovers Walk along the Keisie river and Kanonkop, begin a few hundred metres from the front door.
