About

St Helena Bay Hotel is a West Coast accommodation option roughly two hours from Cape Town. Set in a working fishing village, the hotel has sea-view and non-sea-view rooms alongside self-catering chalets, with a rooftop pool and enclosed braai area.

Accommodation

Guests can choose between hotel rooms and self-catering chalets, available in rustic or standard finishes. All units have bathrooms. Sea-view rooms include balconies where Southern Right Whales can sometimes be spotted from August to November. The chalets suit those who prefer to cook for themselves during longer stays.

Facilities

A rooftop pool deck overlooks the bay and doubles as a whale-watching spot in season. The courtyard has an enclosed braai and barbecue area. A bar serves cocktails, and a 360° Google Virtual Tour lets guests preview the property before arrival. Grocery stores including SPAR and OK are nearby.

Location & Surroundings

St Helena Bay is a major fishing centre where the cold Benguela current creates nutrient-rich waters. Southern Right Whales calve in the bay from August to November. Heaviside's dolphins and schools of dusky and common dolphins frequent the coastline. Nearby attractions include Shelley Point Golf Course, West Coast National Park, kite-surfing spots and Vredenburg Shopping Mall.
