Location & Surroundings

Ballito is one of KwaZulu-Natals most beautiful coastal areas, with pristine beaches and warm waters. Dolphins frolic in the waves and you can swim, surf, or scuba dive along with them. The promenade is perfect for early morning jogs, and there are several shopping malls in close proximity.

The Dolphin Coast, as this area is otherwise called, gets its name from numerous Bottlenose dolphins that frequent the waves along the coast. Ballitos beaches are as safe as they are popular, and are protected by shark nets, and lifeguards in season. Willard Beach has Blue Flag status, and Clarke Bay has tidal pools for the little ones to splash around in. Families flock to Ballito in summer to enjoy the activities the warm waters have to offer such as surfing, body boarding, swimming, or just to sun-tan on the warm sands.

Ballito has fishing spots aplenty that guarantee a good catch, and a delicious evening meal. Licenses for fishing, mussels, oysters, and crayfish can be obtained in Ballito so you can try your hand at whatever pleases you.
