Five units accommodate 2-18 guests. Most feature private hot tubs. Riverhouse offers modern open-plan design with WiFi, the only unit with internet. All include fireplaces and braai areas. Beds have linen and down duvets. No TVs.

Wood-fired and outdoor hot tubs, braai areas, farm stall with animal feedings, pump track, orienteering course, picnic sites in game reserve and along river, and board games. WiFi available in Riverhouse. Solar-powered.
Location & Surroundings
Near Winterton, KZN, in the shadow of Spionkop Mountain. Battle of Spionkop historical site 15 minutes away. Champagne Valley and Drakensberg hikes 40 minutes away. Winterton village 22km. Central Drakensberg area. 3.5-4 hours from Johannesburg; 2.5 hours from Durban.

Sleeps 10 guests (minimum 6, expandable to 18). Comprises a main section with 1 en-suite bedroom and 2 mezzanine bedrooms (1 king, 4 singles) and a separate cottage with 1 bedroom and 1 mezzanine bedroom (1 king convertible to 2 twins, 2 singles). Both sections feature wooden river-facing decks, inside fireplaces, and braai areas. Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, oven, fridge, and freezer. Bed linen and down duvets provided; extra blankets in winter. Daily housekeeping by resident team. Swimming towels not provided. No TV. Note: Upstairs mezzanine rooms have low roof pitches and narrow steep stairs — not suitable for toddlers, elderly, or mobility-limited guests.

Sleeps 5 guests. Master bedroom with king bed; second bedroom with 3 single beds convertible to kingsize. Downstairs: kitchen, lounge, dining room, fireplace, toilet and shower. Upstairs: second toilet. Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, oven, and fridge freezer. All beds with linen and down duvets; extra blankets for winter. Wood-fired hot tub overlooking the river on wooden deck with outdoor furniture and river access. Indoor fireplace and outdoor braai area. Pet-friendly with fenced grounds. Daily housekeeping. No TV.

Self-contained cottage overlooking the Tugela River rapids. Sleeps 4 guests. King bed downstairs (convertible to doubles) and 2 single beds in mezzanine loft. Gas kitchen stove, oven, fridge, freezer, shower, toilet, fireplace, and wood-fired hot tub (usable as summer pool). Outdoor braai area, river access, fenced grounds. Pet-friendly, solar-powered, no TV. Note: Loft accessed by steep, narrow stairs — unsuitable for toddlers, elderly, or unfit guests; loft beds cannot be converted to doubles due to roof pitch. Can be combined with Main Lodge for larger bookings.
River House

Sleeps 4 guests. Downstairs: 1 kingsize bed with open-plan shower and toilet. Upstairs: 2 single beds with river views (convertible to kingsize). Additional guest shower and toilet downstairs. Spacious lounge with combustion fireplace, open-plan kitchen, verandah overlooking the river, outdoor braai area, river access. WiFi available — the only unit at the lodge with WiFi. Pet-friendly, fenced, no TV. Modern design; described as the most popular unit at the lodge.
Kingfisher Cottage

Sleeps 2–4 guests. 1 kingsize bed downstairs and 2 single beds in mezzanine level upstairs. Own kitchen, bathroom, and fireplace. Pet-friendly with fenced area, river access, outdoor braai area, and hot tub. Giraffes can be spotted from the kitchen window. Can be combined with the Main Lodge for larger groups over 10 people. No TV. Note: Upstairs rooms cannot be converted to doubles due to roof pitch; steep, narrow staircase is unsuitable for toddlers, elderly, or those with mobility issues.
