Directions to Elephant Plains Game Lodge

Access only via Gowrie Gate (not Newington or Shaws Gate); you cannot cross the reserve by road. Final ~20 km is dirt — allow at least 45 minutes from the end of the tar. Gowrie Gate open 05:00–23:00. On Google Maps navigate to Gowrie Gate, not the lodge name; once through the gate, turn right along the fence and follow lodge signs. Road distances (approx.): Johannesburg/OR Tambo ±560 km / 7 hrs; Nelspruit/KMIA ±180 km / 2½–3 hrs; Hoedspruit/Eastgate ±100 km / 1½ hrs; Kruger Orpen Gate ±55 km / 1 hr. In rainy season (Dec–Mar), allow extra 2 hours. Air: scheduled flights link Johannesburg, Eastgate (Hoedspruit) and Kruger Mpumalanga (Nelspruit). Private charters can use the lodge’s 1,200 m gravel airstrip (south–north approach; GPS S24°44’38.9” E31°28’30.5”).
