Houtboschbay nestles among the sand dunes on the coast at Aston Bay in a small nature reserve, next to the Marina Martinique and here we offer 2 chalets . The beach is 200 meters away via a wooden walkway, all with spacious balconies, stunning views of the Indian Ocean, gas braais and private parking inside the complex
The Astons is 200m from the Aston Bay beach voted by CNN as one of the best beaches to visit in 2018, balcony and safe parking .

Location & Surroundings

The Bay of Jeffreys Bay stretches from Cape Recife in the east, through to Cape St Francis further west while the village lies 80km west of Port Elizabeth, midway between the Gamtoos and Kromme Rivers, and the two estuaries of the Kabeljous and Seekoei Rivers.
Temperatures are moderate all year round along the coast with rain scattered throughout the year. Summers: Warm with a very temperate humidity level. Winters: Mild and pleasant, and it is significant that water sports are practised year-round. We are at this stage amid a severe drought and our dams are running dry. We ask that you use water sparingly.
The residential area of Marina Martinique is just past the Kabeljous-on-Sea Township outside Jeffreys Bay, followed by Houtbosch Bay in Aston Bay and Paradise Beach reached via a causeway over the Seekoei River.
JBay as it is fondly known is the home of the best right hand surf break in the world! International surfers flock to catch the legendary waves in this, a paradise of sunshine, aloes, dolphins, shells, perfect points & classic reefs. Surfers and others who found it hard to leave such an idyllic spot have turned Jeffreys Bay into a year round fun place to be, creating a thriving local craft industry besides the surf shops on just about every corner.
The bustling town is bordered on both sides by nature reserves and rivers – the Kabeljous and Seekoei estuaries and within Jeffreys Bay –the Noorsekloof nature reserve. We invite you to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and have a wonderful stay.
A wide variety of shops reflect the diversity of local talents
Jeffreys Bay is world renowned for its safe beaches and surfing waves, with many different surf breaks, each possessing its own magic. Surfing spots include Kitchen Window, Tubes, Super Tubes, Point and Albatross.
The waves at SuperTubes can get up to about 10 - 12 feet. They are very fast, and as the name suggests, getting tubed is the name of the game. The swell usually runs in the winter months.
Boneyards is right next to Supers. You will be able to recognise it with ease, as it is the spot where the waves are breaking almost perfectly.
Point is situated east of Super Tubes, further down the beach. The waves here tend to be a little smaller than those at Boneyards and Supers. Here you can expect a much longer ride than Boneyards and Super Tubes.
These beaches have an abundance of shells, and are known for good angling. Fishing in Jeffreys produces kob, leerfish (Garrick), grunter, white steenbras, blackmail, musselcracker, baardman, red steenbras, poenskop, roman, dageraad, elf, sharks and rays.
People with a real interest in nature will enjoy the recreation offered by the three nature reserves under the management of the Cape Nature Conservation. Although small in size, they offer peace and tranquillity and some hiking trails.
For serious hikers there are even more trails, some of these include the Cape St Francis Nature Reserve, Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail and the trails in the Baviaans kloof
Jeffreys is also the hub of the calamari industry of the Eastern Cape, and is thus in the fortunate position of being able to supply visitors with this delicacy in abundance.
In case of emergency doctors and nurses are on call and we have an 80 bed hospital in Humansdorp The hospital forms part of the Kouga Partnership hospital, which is a merge of Humansdorp Provincial hospital and Life Isivivana Private Hospital. The merge allows the private sector to operate a private ward and share some facilities such as the theatres and maternity unit with the State, and in return the private sector upgraded the existing State-run section of the Hospital. Humansdorp is located 14km West of Jeffrey’s Bay on the R102 and 18.5km North of St. Francis Bay on the R330.
