Makweti Safari Lodge offers accommodation for a maximum of 10 guests in five air-conditioned stone-and-thatch suites in the Welgevonden Game Reserve, Limpopo Province, South Africa.

Accommodation

Five air-conditioned stone-and-thatch suites, each for two guests, feature king-size beds convertible to twins, private decks, indoor and outdoor showers, Victorian bathtubs and a minibar. Four suites have private plunge pools. The unfenced lodge is centred on the Indaba Lounge with views over the waterhole and Makweti Gorge.

Facilities

Communal facilities include the Indaba Lounge, viewing decks, pool, main lounge and discreet bar. Two dedicated game vehicles with three professional guides conduct morning and evening open-vehicle game drives. All meals are included. The lodge is fully electrified with power points for charging devices.

Location & Surroundings

Welgevonden Game Reserve in Limpopo Province, South Africa, is a 40,000-hectare unfenced malaria-free wilderness that forms part of the UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere Reserve. A stream-fed waterhole lies 80 yards from the open lounge and viewing deck. Access from Johannesburg airport is via three-hour shuttle followed by 30-minute safari vehicle transfer.
