About
The Palala River Cottages consist of 6 fully equipped self-catering cottages, scattered across the reserve. Guests are welcome to self-drive, walk and fish on the reserve. Guided game drives and nature walks, as well as massages at your cottage, can be booked in advance, subject to availability. Some simple meals can also be ordered from our Palala Pantry, which are freshly prepared and delivered to your unit. There are 4 cottages/locations to choose from.
Kingfisher Cottage is perfect for big family gatherings, sleeping 10 guests in 5 rooms: 2 king,1 double, and 2 twin rooms. The cottage has a big kitchen, lounge, dining area, braai/boma area outside and a plunge pool. Kingfisher Cottage has free Wi-Fi but no cell phone signal.
Samia Cabin is a wooden cabin consisting of 3 en-suite bedrooms, with a kitchen, lounge and dining area. The cabin has a viewing deck that opens from the lounge area and a boma area where you can sit and watch the African sky at night. Samia Cabin does have a swimming pool. Samia Cabin has cell phone signal and free Wi-Fi.
River Cottage is perfect for couples looking for a private escape. The cottage, sleeping 2 guests in 1 bedroom, is situated on the banks of the Palala River. River Cottage does not have cell phone signal or Wi-Fi, and does not have access to a swimming pool.
Podica Bush Camp consists of 3 separate rondawels that can either be booked separately or as a whole. Each cottage can sleep 2 guests with an open plan living area, attached bathroom with shower only, an outdoor shower and a private boma area. Podica Bush Camp does not have cell phone signal or Wi-Fi, and does not have access to a swimming pool.
* Our check-in time is between 14h00 and 18h00; after 18h00, the reserve gates are closed.
* A later check-in can be facilitated up until 19h00, if previously arranged with management.
* Our check-out time is 11h00.

Palala River Cottages is located within the heart of the beautiful Waterberg Plateau, in the northern Limpopo Province of South Africa. Perfect for families, multi-generational groups and small groups of friends, the safari adventure offering includes self-drives, nature walks, hiking and running trails, cycling and fishing. The reserve is a beautiful, unspoilt wilderness of rivers, cliffs, gorges, woodland and open savanna that has been preserved through careful conservation management.

Directions
*Take the N1 highway from Johannesburg /Pretoria.
Turn off at the Kranskop Toll Plaza to Nylstroom/Modimolle. (Far left off- ramp).
Once off the N1 and at the top of the off- ramp, turn left towards Modimolle/Nylstroom.
Go through Nylstroom/Modimolle and continue on towards Vaalwater (± 70km).
