Sanbona Wildlife Reserve offers accommodation in the heart of the Little Karoo, a malaria-free Big 5 wilderness reserve. It spans 62 000 hectares at the foot of the Warmwaterberg Mountains, around a three-hour drive from Cape Town along Route 62.

Accommodation

Lodges are located back at the reserve. Guests return to lodges after activities. The reserve covers 62 000 hectares with landscapes sculpted by Cape Fold Mountains and wide-open Karoo plains.

Facilities

Qualified rangers guide drives in comfortable open land cruisers during early morning or sunset. Nature walks, hiking and wilderness trails are available. Boat safaris on Bellair Dam use the vessel Peregrine, subject to water levels. A Relaxation Retreat provides therapies and treatments.

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is in the Little Karoo along Route 62, the world’s longest wine route. It features three biomes, over 600 types of flora, Big 5 animals, antelope species, and rare Riverine Rabbit. Bellair Dam is on the property. The night sky offers stargazing.
