Directions to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve

About 270 km from Cape Town via N1 to Worcester (R60) to Robertson to Ashton to R62 through Montagu; turn at ‘Die Vlakte’ / Sanbona signs, then 7 km to the main gate and a further 15 km to the Welcome Lounge (tar becomes gravel). From Oudtshoorn: Route 62 via Calitzdorp, Ladismith and Barrydale (~175 km + ~22 km toward Montagu), then same turn-off. Welcome Lounge is ~15 km (~20 min) from the Main Gate. Complimentary daily transfers to the lodges at 12:30 and 16:00; aim for Main Gate by 12:00 or 15:30 (16:00 transfer means missing the afternoon nature drive). Self-drive to lodges allowed with suitable/4×4 vehicles only (not low-slung or micro cars). Drive times from Main Gate: Tilney Manor 1h10, Gondwana 1h20, Dwyka 1h30.
